Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Pilotgentic (“we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user of the Pilotgentic application and website.

2. Data We Collect

Email address

When you register, we store your email address. It is used solely for license management and critical service communications. We do not send marketing email without your explicit opt-in.

Hardware ID hash

Pilotgentic derives a one-way hash of your Mac's hardware identifier to bind your license to a machine. The raw hardware ID is never transmitted; only the derived hash is stored.

License key

A UUID generated at registration and stored in our license database. Pilotgentic sends your license key and hardware ID hash to our license server on startup for tier validation. No automation data, screen content, or file content is ever transmitted.

Payment data

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store payment card information. Stripe may collect and process payment data subject to their own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Screen contents or screenshots
  • Keystrokes or input data
  • File contents or file system access patterns
  • Automation commands or Claude conversation content
  • Analytics, tracking pixels, or browsing behavior
  • Crash reports or telemetry (unless you opt in explicitly)

4. How We Use Your Data

Data collected is used exclusively for license validation and account management. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.

5. Browser Extension

The PilotGentic Browser Extension is an optional Chrome extension that monitors open browser tabs and streams data to the PilotGentic desktop app running locally on your machine.

What the extension collects

Tab titles, URLs, JavaScript errors, unhandled promise rejections, network request failures, CSP violations, and performance metrics (FCP, DOM load time, memory usage, FPS). This data is sent exclusively to the local PilotGentic desktop app via native messaging on localhost:7222. It is never transmitted to any remote server.

Permissions used

  • tabs — enumerate open tabs and track navigation events
  • activeTab — access the current tab's URL and title
  • scripting — inject a locally bundled monitoring script into pages
  • nativeMessaging — send tab data to the local desktop app
  • storage — persist lightweight extension state between sessions
  • host_permissions (<all_urls>) — monitor any tab the user is working in

No remote data transmission

All data collected by the extension stays on your local machine. No tab data, browsing history, or page content is sent to PilotGentic servers or any third party. The extension only communicates with the PilotGentic desktop app running locally via the Chrome native messaging API.

7. Third-Party Services

Stripe — payment processing. Stripe handles all card data under PCI-DSS compliance. See stripe.com/privacy.

Cloudflare — DNS, CDN, and Workers infrastructure. Cloudflare may log request metadata (IP, timestamp) for security and performance. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

8. Data Retention

License records (email, hardware ID hash, license key) are retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data via our contact form. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.
